Description
The Michael Group renovated the existing former fire house, now used as a long-term residential treatment center for men, including many veterans, who are homeless due to addictions. New commercial construction added a 42-bed dormitory, eating facilities, bathrooms, offices and meeting spaces.
Project Highlights
The Michael Group installed a green roof on the new addition, which will insulate the building, lower heating and cooling expenses, catch and reuse water runoff, and offset air pollution with a rooftop garden. This project was a tenant in place rehab, with the 50 residents remaining in the building while construction took place.
